Rachel Richman is a Research Assistant in MEF Associates’ Alexandria office. Her research interests include welfare and benefits programs and policies that address inequalities for children and families, and she is particularly interested in equity within this work. At MEF, Rachel is involved in a variety of projects related to fatherhood and healthy relationships, SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, employment services, and benefits coordination.

Prior to joining MEF, Rachel worked as a Research Assistant in the Tufts University Department of Sociology, where she aided on several projects related to environmental and public health policy. She was also a Policy Fellow at Mass Alliance, where she undertook policy advocacy work and policy research across a range of issues, from housing to economic inequality, at the state and local levels in Massachusetts.

Rachel graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and exploring the DC area.
