Imani Hutchinson is a Research Analyst at MEF Associates’ Alexandria office. Her interests include restorative justice approaches to harm reduction, sustainable solutions to mitigating economic instability and poverty, and community-based participatory research methods and other strategies engaging local communities.
Imani’s current projects at MEF focus on racial equity in family and child welfare, child support enforcement, and providing technical assistance to TANF programs. She primarily engages in quantitative and qualitative mixed methods project design, program evaluation, and technical assistance to social service agencies. Prior to joining MEF Associates, she worked in community and nonprofit capacity building and family and child welfare research, and program evaluation
Imani received her Master of Social Work from Howard University with a concentration in community, administration, and policy practice and a displaced populations field of practice (unhoused people, people surviving natural, and human caused disasters, immigrants, migrants, and refugees). She also holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Florida A&M University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and being outdoors with friends and family.
