Shafiqua Little, PhD is a Senior Research Associate based in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a qualitative researcher and policy analyst with extensive experience working alongside various community partners across the education landscape. Much of her research focuses on the interaction of race and class in education policy and practice, and she is broadly committed to improving the lives of communities through comprehensive and equitable policies and practices. At MEF, she is currently working on projects related to early care and education, postsecondary education, and fatherhood, among others.
Prior to joining MEF, Shafiqua worked at Research for Action where she conducted culturally responsive and equity focused research to support programs in scaling effective ways to support racial and ethnic minoritized students and low-income students to and through college. She has contributed to several research and evaluation projects focused on advancing racial equity in higher education, school discipline and urban charter schools in Georgia.
Shafiqua earned a PhD in Education Law and Policy from the University of Georgia, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mercer University, and a BA in Sociology from Spelman College. Outside of work, she can be found spending time with her husband and two children, binge watching reality tv, and perusing the Target app.
