Semhar is a Research Associate and telecommuter from the Atlanta, GA area. Her areas of interest include education, workforce development, and the overall advancement of underserved communities. At MEF, Semhar works on projects across a variety of policy areas, including TANF, child support, and postsecondary education. Semhar conducts quantitative and qualitative research and analyses and provides project management for her projects.
Prior to joining MEF, Semhar worked at the Urban Institute in the Income and Benefits Policy Center where she worked on projects around workforce development, child care, education, and career pathways.
Semhar holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Mount Holyoke College.
