Erin Bumgarner is a Principal Associate and telecommuter from the Boston, MA area. Her research experience spans early education, child welfare, and home visiting. Erin has worked with federal, state, and local partners to co-create evaluation designs, implement mixed-methods research studies, and analyze data to identify action-oriented results. She also has experience providing technical assistance to states to support research-informed policy decisions. This work has included evidence reviews, secondary data analysis, landscape analyses, and meeting facilitation support to make meaning from data.
Prior to joining MEF, Erin worked at Abt Associates where she served in leadership roles for projects such as the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Study, the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse, and the New Hampshire Preschool Development Grant Project. She also worked at Tufts University where she directed the Massachusetts Healthy Families Evaluation. Erin earned her PhD in Developmental Psychology at Columbia University. Outside of work, Erin can often be found tending to her garden, running on a nearby trail, or tinkering with power tools in the garage.
