Dani Hansen is a Research Associate and telecommuter from the Boston, MA area. She is a registered dietitian and conducts research on federal nutrition assistance programs, including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC). She brings expertise in qualitative and survey research.
Prior to joining MEF, Dani worked as a Researcher at Westat Insight (formerly known as Insight Policy Research) on the food and nutrition team. In this role, she led qualitative and survey data collection tasks, provided project management, and co-authored numerous reports including the Indicators of Diet Quality, Nutrition, and Health for Americans by Program Participation Status 2011-2016 series.
Dani holds a M.S.P.H in human nutrition from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a B.S. in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Science from the University of Vermont. When she is not working, Dani spends her time walking her hound dog (Tupper), at the CrossFit gym, and trying to find the best pizza in Boston.
