Using Behavioral Economics in Child Support Enforcement: Virtual Trainings for Washington State

Building on the successful implementation of the Behavioral Interventions for Child Support Services grant, for which MEF provided technical assistance and evaluation services, Washington State’s Division of Child Support (DCS) contracted MEF to conduct a series of virtual trainings to engage staff across the state on the principles and applications of behavioral economics. MEF staff collaborated with DCS to develop and deliver four virtual trainings introducing behavioral economics terms, process maps, and the behavioral diagnosis and design process. DCS attendees worked together in small groups to review DCS forms and to develop their own “behaviorally designed” prototypes.
