Sacramento County My Empowerment (M.E.) Project

Sacramento County’s Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) was awarded a grant from the federal Office of Child Support Services to study whether providing interventions such as educational support, career training, and healthy relationships curriculum will change attitudes and behaviors of youth around parenthood. DCSS is collaborating with community organizations to engage youth who are at higher risk of adolescent or young adult pregnancy and educate them about the financial, legal, and emotional responsibilities of parenthood. Specifically, the program will focus on a subpopulation of Black and Hispanic youth. MEF Associates is designing and conducting the evaluation and will support intervention design and program partner engagement.
