Sacramento County Guaranteed Income for Families Pilot Evaluation

The Sacramento County Division of Child, Family and Adult Services – Child Protective Services (DCFAS-CPS) is piloting an intervention providing a guaranteed monthly income to the parents of Black/ African American and Alaska Native/American Indian children with the aim of promoting child and family well-being and preventing disproportionate involvement with the child welfare system. DCFAS-CPS has contracted with MEF Associates to conduct a descriptive evaluation of the pilot, also known as the Families First Economic Support Pilot.

The evaluation team will use an approach that includes longitudinal qualitative interviewing, survey data collection, administrative data analysis, and collaborative film making to generate rich quantitative and qualitative findings about how the pilot affects families over time.

MEF is the evaluation partner for this project. United Way California Capital Region (UWCCR) is the implementation partner.
