Effect of Child Support Expenditures on Performance

This project, for the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement, involved analysis of the relationship between funding for state child support enforcement agencies and program performance. MEF used state-level, multivariate analysis to estimate the impact of funding cuts to state programs on support order establishment and collections on support due. In addition, detailed conversations with state child support directors informed a broader discussion of the impacts of changes in federal spending on child support enforcement on families. ECONorthwest was a subcontractor to MEF Associates on this project.
